Uenomura is approximately 160km from Tokyo. The fastest and easiest way to get here is by car. It takes about 2 hours from Nerima IC in northwestern Tokyo.
Via Kan-etsu and Joshin-etsu Expressways
By Public Transport
The fastest route from Tokyo to Uenomura Local Industry Information Center (Nature Activity Center) takes around 3 hours total. You will take 2 trains and a bus. The bus at the end is called Noriai Taxi (乗合タクシー), but it functions more or less the same as a small local cash-only bus. The bus stop is called Uenomura Fureai Kan (上野村ふれあい館), but it is in the same plaza as the Information Center.
